Bug#893570: libc6: After update:libc6 my wvdial crashes:utils/wvtask.cc:303:static int WvTaskMan::yield(int): Assertion `*current_

2018-03-19 Thread Yosa
Package: libc6
Version: 2.24-11+deb9u1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

1.I've updated the following packages:

libc-dev-bin (2.24-11+deb9u1) to 2.24-11+deb9u3
libc6 (2.24-11+deb9u1) to 2.24-11+deb9u3
libc6-dev (2.24-11+deb9u1) to 2.24-11+deb9u3

2.Then I launched WVDIAL

root@debian:/home/mydebi# wvdial
--> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.61
--> Initializing modem.
--> Sending: ATZ
ATZ
OK
--> Sending: AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","x"
AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","x"
OK
--> Modem initialized.
--> Sending: ATD*99#
--> Waiting for carrier.
ATD*99#
CONNECT 1
--> Carrier detected. Starting PPP immediately.
--> Starting pppd at Mon Mar 11 18:03:04 2018
--> Pid of pppd: 1616
wvdial: utils/wvtask.cc:303: static int WvTaskMan::yield(int): Assertion
`*current_task->stack_magic == WVTASK_MAGIC' failed.
Aborted

The connection has been established, the internet works but this nasty message
:(
wvdial: utils/wvtask.cc:303: static int WvTaskMan::yield(int): Assertion
`*current_task->stack_magic == WVTASK_MAGIC' failed.
Aborted

3.The dependency analysis indicated that the above two files: libc6 and
libc6-dev appear as dependencies in libwvstreams4.6-base (my version is:
4.6.1-11).

4.I've tried two different USB modems. To work normally, I returned to version:
libc-dev-bin (2.24-11+deb9u1)
libc6 (2.24-11+deb9u1)
libc6-dev (2.24-11+deb9u1)

5. !!! CONCLUSION !!!. The problem (error) is probably in the updated files:
libc6 or libc6-dev or libc-dev-bin, hmmm ??... or in the absence of
actualization the libwvstreams4.6-base file (my version is: 4.6.1-11)
