Removed that folder or rename it and Thunderbird will start. > > Regards > Carsten > Hi Carsten, thank you for your answer. I don't have an .icedove directory. I do believe the real cause of this problem is explained in https://bugs.debian.org/857029 (thunderbird: tries to migrate nonexistent ~/.icedove due to unintended meaning of "\ #" syntax). Bug#857032: thunderbird: Thunderbird 1:45.7.1-2 fails to start
Package: thunderbird Version: 1:45.7.1-2 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable Dear Developers, After I installed: icedove (1:45.7.1-1) icedove-l10n-es-es (1:45.7.1-1) thunderbird (1:45.7.1-1) thunderbird-l10n-es-es (1:45.7.1-1) I had a successful migration from icedove to thunderbird. After testing everything was running fine, I deleted .icedove_moved_by_thunderbird_starter After updating those packages to 1:45.7.1-2 version today, it seems it tries to migrate once again and, due to there's a .thunderbird directory already it produces this error: advocatux@bradstreet:~$ thunderbird --verbose INFO -> [[ ... using verbose mode ... ]] /usr/bin/thunderbird: línea 197: : no se encontró la orden DEBUG -> There is already a folder or symlink '/home/advocatux/.thunderbird', will do nothing. Bug#619081: icedove: New email account wizard defaults to imap and determines the directory path
Package: icedove Version: 3.0.11-1+squeeze1 Severity: wishlist Dear developer, please consider to introduce a sort of welcome popup in the new email account wizard with a simple question: Do you want to configure manually or automagically the new email account? New email account wizard current behaviour is something like here we go, there's an imap server and I don't care if you're trying to configure a POP3 account. Besides, if you try to stop the automagic-searching for email servers or you hit the manual configuration button, the directory path is set in the imap directory already. Of course, you can edit that later and change everything in command line or in a file manager but that's a PITA. Yep, I know I can add "ipv6.disable=1" in /boot/grub/menu.lst but this method doesn't work always, it depends on which 2.6.30 kernel version you're running. > >> Yeah, just like having IPv4 enabled by default. Given the number of >> attacks, I would say that IPv4 is much more dangerous and should be >> disabled immediately by any sane administrator :-) > > triple *lol* ;) Certainly that mockery doesn't fit with Debian community spirit, does it? and for sure doesn't help to fill bug reports. People analizing this bug in Ubuntu Bug System (https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351656) changed the status from security vulnerability "no" to "yes", and that's because an initial machine running other kernel, with IPv4 traffic filtered and IPv6 disabled, after install a 2.6.30 kernel ends with unfiltered ports listening to IPv6 traffic. Bug#542470: linux-image-2.6.30-1-686: IPv6 can not be disabled
Package: linux-image-2.6.30-1-686 Version: 2.6.30-5 Severity: normal IPv6 is enabled by default in kernel 2.6.30 and can't be disabled, at least not in an easy way. I've tried both echo 1 >/proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/all/disable_ipv6 and sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=1 methods without any success. I think this bug is related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351656 in Ubuntu. In that report someone says there's a fix from upstream and that's already fixed in 2.6.31 series. There'd be a possible security risk in this whole thing. Bug#541630: ATI Rage 128 Pro Ultra TF doesn't start with linux-image-2.6.30-1-686
Package: linux-image-2.6.30-1-686 Version: 2.6.30-5 Severity: important Hi, after installing linux-image-2.6.30-1-686, Xorg (ATI Rage 128 Pro Ultra TF) doesn't start, freezing both monitor and keyboard. (The system is only accessible by remote (ssh), just in case someone with the same problem wants to reboot or shutdown the system properly). I don't know which logs or info are the most useful to you to handle this bug, so don't hesitate to ask.
