Bug#636622: python-xpcom: python modules are not loaded
Package: python-xpcom Version: 1:2.0~hg20110502-3 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable Hi, When trying to use a python module with xulrunner-5.0, I get following exception when trying to instantiate it: (NS_ERROR_XPC_CI_RETURNED_FAILURE) [nsIJSCID.createInstance] nsresult: 0x80570015 (NS_ERROR_XPC_CI_RETURNED_FAILURE) Also, a print statement in the python module is not executed; this shows that the module is not loaded. Bug#626780: icewm: xorg crashes when an application sets a really long title
Package: icewm Version: 1.3.7-1 Severity: grave Justification: causes non-serious data loss When a window sets a really long title, icewm (or xorg, I'm not sure) crashes. This can be triggered by a webpage by setting a long title/title content (and it will be set as window title by the browser). To reproduce, visit: http://renevier.net/bugs/icewmcrash.html with either midori or iceweasel (it probably crashes with other browsers, but I did not test) The crash happens when switching to another window. Bug#624289: sysvinit-utils: bootlogd fails to start: ioctl TIOCGDEV: invalid argument
Package: sysvinit-utils Version: 2.88dsf-13.2 Severity: normal Hi, bootlogd fails to start. Bug#616102: icedove-l10n: locales extensions are not appManaged
Package: icedove-l10n Severity: normal Hi, After an icedove upgrade, a window: Checking compatibility of Addons appears. This makes no sense when locales are managed by apt. To reproduce: install icedove, and one or more icedove-l10n-* package. Do not install any other extension. update icedove. Alternatively, to reproduce the behaviour, you can: rm compatibility.ini file in profile change extensions.lastAppVersion preference in prefs.js to a previous icedove version. launch icedove. Extension update dialog is displayed. When adding em:appManagedtrue/em:appManaged to install.rdf of the icedove-l10n-* extensions, that window is not displayed because icedove then knows, all its extensions are managed independently. Bug#574131: xdg-utils: xdg-email never launchs a mua if desktop is not gnome neither kde neither xfce
Package: xdg-utils Version: 1.0.2+cvs20100307-1 Severity: normal hi, My main desktop environment is icewm, and I didn't find a way to have xdg-email working: it always ends up opening a webbrowser. open_generic behaviour does not seem ideal because webbrowsers usually don't known how to open mailto links, and if a webbrowser calls xdg-email to manage mailto links, that could result in an endless loop (maybe?) Also, even when not running gnome or xfce, gvfs-open and exo-open are both configured on my system, and work correctly. I don't know what's the best way to have xdg-email work correctly on generic desktops: if bug #353587 is fixed, that will be easy to implement; otherwise, may be use and parse a custom environment variable (MUA? MAILER?); otherwise, still try open_gnome, open_kde and/or open_xfce in generic case. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash xdg-utils depends on no packages. Bug#491359: devhelp: cannot load http pages (http is not a registered protocol)
Package: devhelp Version: 0.19.1-5 Severity: minor Hi, we can now browse w3-recs from within devhelp (bug #446876), and it's really cool. Some links of w3-recs html files are relatives; some are absolute, and point to http:// urls. Bug#481975: libwebkitgtk1d: file upload does not work
Package: libwebkitgtk1d Version: 0~svn29752-1 Severity: normal Hi, file upload does not work with midori (content-length header send to server is negative, so apache replys with an error page). I could reproduce the bug with a build from webkit git repository. File upload did not work neither with midori neither with GtkLauncher, so I opened a bug in webkit tracker. As far as I understood, problem came from libcurl being compiled with large file support, and webkit not. So, But, I was told file upload works on other distros, so I wonder if it's a debian bug or not. Also, I was not sure if I should send a bug to webkit or libcurl, so please reassign if necessary. It's for python2.4, but I think it should work also for python2.5 (didn't test though). arno. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22custom Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages python2.4 depends on: ii libbz2-1.01.0.3-7high-quality block-sorting file co ii libc6 2.7-2 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libdb4.6 4.6.21-4 Berkeley v4.6 Database Libraries [ ii libncursesw5 5.6+20071103-1 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii libreadline5 5.2-3 GNU readline and history libraries ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8g-3 SSL shared libraries ii mime-support 3.39-1 MIME files 'mime.types' 'mailcap ii python2.4-minimal 2.4.4-6A minimal subset of the Python lan python2.4 recommends no packages. -- no debconf information diff -Nur python2.4-2.4.4/debian/PVER-minimal.postinst.in python2.4-2.4.4~/debian/PVER-minimal.postinst.in --- python2.4-2.4.4/debian/PVER-minimal.postinst.in 2007-11-28 22:44:25.0 +0100 +++ python2.4-2.4.4~/debian/PVER-minimal.postinst.in2007-11-28 22:35:29.0 +0100 @@ -4,8 +4,7 @@ if [ $1 = configure ]; then ( - cd /usr/lib/@PVER@ - files=$(dpkg -L @[EMAIL PROTECTED] | sed -n '/\.py$/s,^/usr/lib/@PVER@/,,p') +files=$(dpkg -L @[EMAIL PROTECTED] | sed -n '/^\/usr\/lib\/@[EMAIL PROTECTED]/.*\.py$/p') /usr/bin/@PVER@ /usr/lib/@PVER@/py_compile.py $files if grep -sq '^byte-compile[^#]*optimize' /etc/python/debian_config; then /usr/bin/@PVER@ -O /usr/lib/@PVER@/py_compile.py $files diff -Nur python2.4-2.4.4/debian/PVER.postinst.in python2.4-2.4.4~/debian/PVER.postinst.in --- python2.4-2.4.4/debian/PVER.postinst.in 2007-11-28 22:44:25.0 +0100 +++ python2.4-2.4.4~/debian/PVER.postinst.in2007-11-28 22:39:39.0 +0100 @@ -9,8 +9,7 @@ if [ $1 = configure ]; then ( - cd /usr/lib/@PVER@ - files=$(dpkg -L @PVER@ | sed -n '/\.py$/s,^/usr/lib/@PVER@/,,p') +files=$(dpkg -L @PVER@ | sed -n '/^\/usr\/lib\/@[EMAIL PROTECTED]/.*\.py$/p') /usr/bin/@PVER@ /usr/lib/@PVER@/py_compile.py $files if grep -sq '^byte-compile[^#]*optimize' /etc/python/debian_config; then /usr/bin/@PVER@ -O /usr/lib/@PVER@/py_compile.py $files

Unlike iceweasel-l10n, localization packages will not be installed as extensions, but directly in /usr/share/xulrunner/chrome because current version of xulrunner does not allow global extensions for all applications. Hopefully, that will change in the future, and localization packages could be real mozilla extensions. arno. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-2-486 Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#439939: procmail: does not handle mbox with CRLF
Package: procmail Version: 3.22-16 Severity: grave Justification: causes non-serious data loss Hi, formail and procmail do not handle mboxes whose endlines are CRLF I'll attach a mbox for demonstration purpose: $ file Sent Sent: ASCII text, with CRLF line terminators $ cat Sent| formail -s cat - | file - /dev/stdin: ASCII mail text, with CRLF, LF line terminators formail has added a '\n' between the headers and the body. With $ cat Sent| formail -s cat - I notice formail has added '' just before the second From field. But it is not a bogus From field, it's the real From for second mail. Then mailbox is totally corrupted. When I encountered that bug, the real line was: $ cat Sent| formail -s procmail So, even with $ cat Sent| formail -b -s procmail procmail would have added a '' before the second From field. I did not find a way to prevent that. So, when using formail -s procmail, I do no think of a way to prevent '' addition. The mbox I attach has been anonymified, but I was created with thunderbird (thunderbird uses CRLF for Sent mailbox) About endlines in mbox, man 5 mbox (from mutt package) tells: An mbox is a text file containing an arbitrary number of e-mail messages. Each message consists of a postmark, followed by an e- mail message formatted according to RFC822, RFC2822. The file format is line-oriented. Lines are separated by line feed characters (ASCII 10). but I did not find reference to that rule in other mbox description I found: http://qmail.org/qmail-manual-html/man5/mbox.html By the way, rfc2822 tells: Messages are divided into lines of characters. A line is a series of characters that is delimited with the two characters carriage-return and line-feed; that is, the carriage return (CR) character (ASCII value 13) followed immediately by the line feed (LF) character (ASCII value 10). (The carriage-return/line-feed pair is usually written in this document as CRLF.) http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2822.html Anyway, I think procmail should not corrupt mailboxes with CRLF. Don't hesitate to ask for more informations if needed. arno. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.21 Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages procmail depends on: ii libc6 2.6.1-1+b1 GNU C Library: Shared libraries Versions of packages procmail recommends: ii postfix [mail-transport-agent 2.4.5-3High-performance mail transport ag -- no debconf information From - Tue Aug 28 15:32:39 2007 X-Mozilla-Status: 0001 X-Mozilla-Status2: 0080 Message-ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Tue, 28 Aug 2007 15:32:38 +0200 From: arno [EMAIL PROTECTED] User-Agent: Mozilla-Thunderbird 2.0.0.4 (X11/20070622) MIME-Version: 1.0 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: hello Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit test On 01.11.2006 20:10, someone wrote: hello From - Tue Aug 28 15:33:34 2007 X-Mozilla-Status: 0001 X-Mozilla-Status2: 0080 Message-ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Tue, 28 Aug 2007 15:33:34 +0200 From: arno [EMAIL PROTECTED] User-Agent: Mozilla-Thunderbird 2.0.0.4 (X11/20070622) MIME-Version: 1.0 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Des nouvelles Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit second mail
Bug#437725: xpdf-reader: crashes when closing xpdf in fullscreen
Package: xpdf-reader Version: 3.02-1.1 Severity: normal Tags: patch When xpdf is in normal mode, using close menu (or Ctrl-W) closes current document, but not xpdf. In fullscreen mode, with one and only one document open, close menu (or Ctrl-W) crashes the application. In XPDFViewer::clear, some widgets belonging to the toolbar are referenced (pageNumText, pageCountLabel, etc), but have not been initialized if mode is fullscreen. I think this is the reason of the crash. Bug#433947: after uninstalling, /etc/alternatives/java is a dangling link to /usr/bin/java-sablevm
Package: sablevm Severity: normal Hi, I have gij installed. I had installed sablevm, and set /etc/alternatives/java to sablevm (with update-alternative --config) so, typing java launched /usr/bin/java-sablevm. But after uninstalling, /etc/alternatives/java still pointed to /usr/bin/java-sablevm: it had not been properly unregistered In sablevm.postinst, there is man=/usr/share/man/man1 update-alternatives \ --install /usr/bin/java java /usr/bin/java-sablevm 350 \ --slave $man/java.1.gz java.1.gz $man/java-sablevm.1.gz variable $man is set but not exported, and update-alternatives is not on the same line (there is no slash after $man variable setting), so on next line, $man references blank line. So, sablevm alternative is not properly registered Unfortunately: - there is no error message from update-alternatives - with update-alternatives --config java, I can manually set etc/alternatives/java pointing to sablevm, but then symlink for java manual is not set - Although I can use, update-alternatives --config, I cannot use update-alternatives --remove, that's the reason why sablevm alternative is not properly unset in prerm It works fine either with: update-alternatives \ --install /usr/bin/java java /usr/bin/java-sablevm 350 \ --slave /usr/share/man/man1/java.1.gz java.1.gz /usr/share/man/man1/java-sablevm.1.gz or man=/usr/share/man/man1 \ update-alternatives \ --install /usr/bin/java java /usr/bin/java-sablevm 350 \ --slave $man/java.1.gz java.1.gz $man/java-sablevm.1.gz arno -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.21 Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages sablevm depends on: pn java-common none (no description available) ii libc6 2.6-2 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libpopt0 1.10-3 lib for parsing cmdline parameters pn libsablevm1 none (no description available) ii unzip 5.52-10De-archiver for .zip files Versions of packages sablevm recommends: pn free-java-sdk none (no description available) pn jikes none (no description available) pn libgnujaxp-java none (no description available) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#433377: planetpenguin-racer: can play all races all levels even if I did not finish precedent races
Package: planetpenguin-racer Version: 0.3.1-9 Severity: normal Tags: patch Hi, in ppracer, when playing cups, you are supposed to finish first race before playing second, finish second before playing third and so on. Also, you are supposed to finish first cup before playing second and so on. Therefore, when selecting cups, or when selecting races (inside a cup), Continue and Race! buttons are inactive. But you can still reach unplayable cups or races by pressing enter. Access to cups or races are checked when clicking on buttons, but not when pressing enter. Actually, in src/ppgltk/widget.cpp, button status is checked in Widget::mouseDown and Widget::mouseUp (m_sensitive member) but no checking is done in Widget::simulateMouseClick (which is called when enter is pressed).
