Bug#394865: missing spaces in definitions

2006-10-30 Thread dzsabor

Hi,

I'm afraid you are asking me to fix a whole dictionary word by word,
but currently I don't have the time for that (though it might be good
for my english :).
We would need the original dict and do the import correcly, but if we
can't get that, I think we will just have to wait for the upstream team
to fix this. Maybe you could lobby at them a bit to solve this bug
after more than a year ;)

Best Regards,
Gabor

Version: 1.3-16

Hello!

Using the eng-hun dictionary, definitions that contain phrases (I mean
short, multiword definitions) do not contain spaces between words. E.g.:

a cake of soap -> egydarabszappan should be "egy darab szappan"
addict -> rabjavminek should be "rabja vminek"

According to this bug information the bug #1586591 was submitted on
SourceForge.net. See:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1586591&group_id=1419&atid=101419

I think this package is useful for the users even with this bug, so I
have decreased the severity to minor.

The upstream knows about the old identical bug on other dictionaries
(see:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1223081&group_id=1419&atid=101419 )
but up to now not able to fix it.

Visi, I can fix this bug, but I need your help. Could you please
to take this .txt file
http://kebil.ghost.lt/freedict-eng-hun/eng-hun.txt.gz ,
correct the wrong definitions and send me the .diff file?

I am waiting the your response.

Best regards,

Hi,

the files seem to be fine now. I still have a problem but I'm not sure
whether this is the problem of the dict file, the server or the client.
I use the latest dictd and kdict from sid.

The problem is that define works for words with accentuated karakters
but match does not, like:

define alma ->apple   OK
match alma->apple   OK
define körte->pear   OK
match körte->not matches found

Could you decide whether this is a problem in the dict file or a bug
should be reported for the server/client?
