Bug#608500: undefined dbc_logline in /usr/share/dbconfig-common/dpkg/preinst

2010-12-31 Thread klaus zerwes
Package: dbconfig-common
Version: 1.8.46
Severity: important

/usr/share/dbconfig-common/dpkg/preinst is missing the include for
/usr/share/dbconfig-common/dpkg/common

this way calling dbc_logline will abort a package installation, as
it is a undefined function.

Bug#607670: ant-contrib should set a link in the ant lib directory

2010-12-20 Thread klaus zerwes
Package: ant-contrib
Version: 1.0~b3+svn177-1
Severity: normal

In order to make ant-contrib work without a classpath definition in taskdef
task, the ant-contrib.jar ar a link should be placed in the ant-lib

ln -sv /usr/share/java/ant-contrib.jar /usr/share/ant/lib/
`/usr/share/ant/lib/ant-contrib.jar' -> `/usr/share/java/ant-contrib.jar'

Bug#567617: lxpanel - mouse pointing problem

2010-01-30 Thread klaus zerwes

Package: lxpanel
Version: 0.5.4.1-1
Severity: important

lxpanel and the lx desktop pager have serious problems reacting on mouse
clicks since the last update.
A click on a launcher often switches to the first desktop and only a
second one will launch the application.
Same problem using the desktop pager. The only way to change desktops is
using the mouse wheel or the keyboard shortcuts. A click on a desktop
on the pager will change to a random desktop, a second one has no effect.

Bug#464735: libswt3.2-gtk-java is not using the alternatives system

I do not see any problem in this.
libswt-gtk-3.2-java (and probably libswt-gtk-3.3-java too) use 2
alternatives entries, a versioned one (libswt-3.2-java) and a
generic/unversioned one (swt.jar)

Packaging other software depending on swt would be much easier if ther
would be some generic way using BOTH swt packages.
Including the complete SWT stuff into each application requiring swt is
no solution.

Then the maintainer of each package requiring swt may decide if he needs
a special version or would simply use /etc/alternatives/swt.jar and
depend on one of the 2 packages.
The fanciest way would be if both swt-packages use the same Provides:
tags, for example one unversioned and one including the version.

and BTW ... /usr/share/java and not /usr/lib/eclipse should be the place
to locate the swt jar according to "Debian policy for Java" Chapter 2.
Policy; 2.4. At least there should be a symlink in /usr/share/java

Bug#466421: hsqldb-server: errors in init script /etc/init.d/hsqldb-server

2008-02-18 Thread klaus zerwes

Package: hsqldb-server
Version: 1.8.0.7-1etch1

There are some errors in the init-script regarding stop, restart and status.

/etc/init.d/hsqldb-server status
will always report NOT RUNNING, because the is_running function is
called without type as arg.

/etc/init.d/hsqldb-server stop
will always report about stopping a server type even if it is not running

/etc/init.d/hsqldb-server restart will always try to start each type,
regardless of the state of is_configured and therefor create a pid-file
even if it is not running

patch see attachement ...

# ls -l /etc/alternatives/swt.jar
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 33 Feb  8 19:52 /etc/alternatives/swt.jar ->
/usr/share/java/swt-gtk-3.2.1.jar

# ls -l /usr/share/java/swt-gtk-3.2.1.jar
ls: /usr/share/java/swt-gtk-3.2.1.jar: No such file or directory

Ohg!
/etc/alternatives/swt.jar is still there and a dead symlink!

I suggest to change libswt-gtk-3.2-java.prerm
line
update-alternatives --remove swt.jar \
   /usr/share/java/swt.jar
to
update-alternatives --remove swt.jar \
   /usr/share/java/swt-gtk-3.2.1.jar

as the postinst script registers
/usr/share/java/swt-gtk-3.2.1.jar
and not
/usr/share/java/swt.jar

Bug#464735: libswt3.2-gtk-java is not using the alternatives system

2008-02-08 Thread klaus zerwes

Package: libswt3.2-gtk-java
Version: 3.2.1-4

Unfortunately libswt3.2-gtk-java is not using the alternatives system
like libswt-gtk-3.2-java. This makes it impossible / hard to package
other software depending one libswt3.2-gtk-java OR libswt-gtk-3.2-java.

I would recommend using the alternatives system like libswt-gtk-3.2-java
and additionally use /usr/share/java for the jars (this may be a symlink
t /usr/lib/eclipse).

See "Debian policy for Java" Chapter 2. Policy; 2.4. Java libraries:
"Their classes must be in jar archive(s) in the directory /usr/share/java"

Best regards
