MC window dissapeared but no shell prompt did come up, on pressing any key mc window came back in front. Simple using SFTP as ever * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Opened new SFTP Session, answered YES to store the new athenticity My bet MC doesnt store the ECDSA fingerprint correctly * What was the outcome of this action? failed to open file (-16) * What outcome did you expect instead? an established SFTP connection Actually in using scp as workaround (storing key), after that all future SFTP sessions to the host does work And finally building clean 4.8.28-1 from git source the problem is gone. So something in the Debian pachtes are triggering this error.
