Package: weechat-python Version: 3.3-1+b1 Severity: normal With the recent updates of python3-async-timeout/python3-aiohttp packages, I cannot load the weechat-matrix python plugin anymore (among others). Weechat either crashes with an illegal instruction during start, gets stuck forever while loading, and/or crashes with SIGSEGV while quitting. It became unusable.
I initially reported the issue against python3-async-timeout, but it's likely these two modules are not directly responsible. There's for sure though some new ABI difference somewhere which is causing problems and leading to crashes. As a test, I rebuilt weechat 3.3 directly from upstream sources using the current version of python3.9-dev (3.9.9-1) and I can now run weechat-matrix without any other problem or change (all dependent python packages such as python3-matrix-nio unchanged). Is a forced rebuild possible in such a scenario? I didn't retry to rebuild the weechat package itself, I compiled from upstream sources. -- System Information: Versions of packages weechat-python depends on: ii libc6 2.33-1 ii libpython3.9 3.9.9-1 ii weechat-curses 3.3-1+b1 weechat-python recommends no packages. weechat-python suggests no packages.
