Unfortunately no, 1.40.2+dfsg-1 from unstable does not fix the problem. However, the same version from Firefox Add-ons is fine, no 100% CPU. I also found this Debian bug report against firefox: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=986027 And this upstream Firefox bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1706594

Hi, thanks for the report. If you install version 1.40.2+dfsg-1 from unstable, does this resolve your problem? I have noticed similar issues with Firefox on websites which make heavy use of Javascript but I don't experience them with Chromium. Package: webext-ublock-origin-firefox Version: 1.37.0+dfsg-1~deb11u1 Severity: important Hello, In firefox-esr 91 in Debian 11, webext-ublock-origin-firefox makes Firefox consumes 100% of a CPU core while browsing, and especially in YouTube. When the latest version of ublock-origin is installed from Firefox add-ons, and the Debian package webext-ublock-origin-firefox is removed, the issue disappears, and I don't experience the 100% CPU consumption any more.
