I contacted the maintainer a year ago and again a few weeks ago but I never got any replies. I notified the MIA a week ago. The last version in Debian is the v3.4.0 while the latest upstream one -- v3.5.0 -- has been released in 2019. This lib is used by a bunch of apps to communicate with the Linux kernel. The 3.5.0 version adds some new features but it also fixes bugs, some can be considered as important, e.g. avoiding a crash in some cases. This packages has a few lintian issues but if I'm not mistaken, no new ones compared to the previous version. Because it is a NMU and the situation is unclear with the official maintainer, these old lintian issues have not been addressed.
