Bug#1006276: wireguard-go: Please rename bin/wireguard to bin/wireguard-go

2022-05-27 Thread Matthew Gabeler-Lee
Package: wireguard-go
Version: 0.0.20220117-2+b1
Followup-For: Bug #1006276

This probably merits Severity: grave, as the main use for this would be to
work with wg-quick on systems that don't have the kernel module available,
such as ChromeOS Crostini containers, and this package is unusable for that
in its current state & default configuration.

The wg-quick script expects the binary to be called wireguard-go, and
produces confusing errors if neither that binary nor the kernel module is
available.

It _is_ possible to work around this by setting
WG_QUICK_USERSPACE_IMPLEMENTATION=wireguard (in the environment), but that
requires quite a bit of spelunking to find.

Dear Maintainer,

Upstream docs[1] refer its name with bin/wireguard-go, please follow.
Besides, the name bin/wireguard seems too common.
