2022-08-06 Thread Sean Clarke
Debian Testing / Bookworm now has firmware-sof-signed (2.1.1-1) and this
appears to now be resolved, both audio speakers work as expected, please
can this be marked as resolved.

Salvatore:
Has that upload problem been resolved? I noticed that 2.0 has transitioned to
testing, which I guess wouldn't have happened if it was (still) problematic.

Sean:
Have you tried the 2.0 firmware version? If so, did it fix the issue? If not
fixed, did it change/improve the situation? If so, how?

So this would be fixed in the 2.0 version as uploaded
https://tracker.debian.org/news/1301129/accepted-firmware-sof-20-1-source-into-unstable/
?

Unfortunately there seems to have been a problem with that upload, as
the arch:all packages are missing.

Salvatore

updated to kernel 5.17rc8 (needed for another bug I raised) and downloaded
version 1.9.3 of intel-signed sof-adl.ri from the SOF Project (
https://github.com/thesofproject).

The sound is now recognised, I can hear audio - when "test right" is played
no audio is observed, when "tet left" is selected both speaks appear to
work - so its working, but not quite.

Who is responsible for packaging the firmware-sof-signed package? looks
like it needs updating.

Bug#1007725: linux-image-5.16.0-4-amd64: Intel Alder Lake-P audio device not detected correctly

2022-03-15 Thread Sean Clarke
It appears that package is indeed installed:

sudo dpkg --list | grep firmware-s
ii firmware-sof-signed 1.9-1 all Intel SOF firmware - signed

sudo apt install firmware-sof-signed
[sudo] **
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
firmware-sof-signed is already the newest version (1.9-1).

It seems the firmware-sof-signed package is missing. Please install it and
report back!
