I have forward the bug to upstream[1]. 

He answered with "Need output of user's journalctl and shotwell.log while this
is happening."

I tried to send a photo with the "sendto" menu item. The thuderbird send 
window opens but there is no document attached.With another mailer like 
evolution or emacs mail it works correctly


I reverted to version 0.30.14-2 where shotwell uses nautilus sednto to 
send the photo by email
The problem started with version 0.30.15 of shotwell ( since the 
dropping of nautilus sendto)


I use the mate desktop with debain testing
