Package: debian-live Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? I used the Bookworm live ISO to install onto my desktop CPU - Intel i7 MOBO - Asus Z490P GPU - RXT 3060 Live ISO booted with the expected Nvidia graphics issues but everything seemed to install OK. Installed the ISO and rebooted. At the initial grub window I edited the file and added the option nomodeset and F10 to finish the boot Wayland login didn't complete so I switched to X11 and logged in I checked the basic functions and everything seemed to have installed correctly. Added NFS folders and mounted them to access my NAS file server Web browsing was working. Other packages ran OK including the install of a package which completed with no errors I followed the URL - https://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphicsDrivers to add the nvidia-driver firmware-misc-nonfree using apt During the install close to the end of the installation I started noticing couple package install errors and mainly intramfs-tools errors Rebooted and the 525 driver worked and I could configure my three monitors correctly The issue started when I tried installing additional packages with apt and at the end of the install there was an intramfs-tool error but the application would open and run however opening gparted and trying to format a USB drive gave ma an error saying it could not update the kernel and the format failed. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I followed this link - https://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=154857 Removed the two z50raspi-firmware directories and ran the apt autoremove --purge raspi-firmware command * What was the outcome of this action? I rebooted my desktop and tried installing additional packages with no intramfs-tools errors and the installation seems to be working correctly.
