Dear Maintainer, * What led up to the situation? I fired jigdo with 2023-06-05 iso DLBDs mounted to scan, to build DVDs. This stresses the system, but not seriously. Since the scan step takes 40-45 minutes, the screen goes to sleep. System Monitor shows there is plenty of RAM but 1 or 2 of the CPU threads (of 8) are maxed. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? When awakening the screen, which is more or less instant upon moving the mouse, before jigdo-lite finishes (many hours on) a mousedown will not activate other windows. Sometimes it will take a few minutes to start recognize mouse clicks, although then it is responsive. Using alt-tab will activate a window, but clicks are ignored. The mouse wheel will scroll the old focus. For instance, to search related bugs I used alt-tab to activate a browser window and used keyboard navigation to look through the list. Similar bugs are #629873 and #640842, but they do not mention trouble with alt-tab navigation. As I am typing, I closed a number of applications and windows. Thunar hung on a window for an afp: server; I had disconnected the Ethernet in favor of a different network. This might be a part of the recipe but does not seem to be a part of the pudding. * What was the outcome of this action? The window manager goes on vacation. Even pressing the Power button had no fast response. I had to use tab to select Hibernate. Upon resumption, the error status was unaffected. Is the window manager getting lost in its events? * What outcome did you expect instead? XFCE should maintain focus in the active window and shift when activating a different one. -- System Information: Debian Release: 12.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-9-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages xfwm4 depends on: ii libc6 2.36-9 ii libcairo2 1.16.0-7 ii libepoxy0 1.5.10-1 ii libgdk-pixbuf-2.0-0 2.42.10+dfsg-1+b1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.74.6-2 ii libgtk-3-0 3.24.37-2 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.50.12+ds-1 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.50.12+ds-1 ii libstartup-notification0 0.12-6+b1 ii libwnck-3-0 43.0-3 ii libx11-6 2:1.8.4-2 ii libxcomposite1 1:0.4.5-1 ii libxdamage1 1:1.1.6-1 ii libxext6 2:1.3.4-1+b1 ii libxfce4ui-2-0 4.18.2-2 ii libxfce4util7 4.18.1-2 ii libxfconf-0-3 4.18.0-2 ii libxfixes3 1:6.0.0-2 ii libxinerama1 2:1.1.4-3 ii libxpresent1 1.0.0-2+b10 ii libxrandr2 2:1.5.2-2+b1 ii libxrender1 1:0.9.10-1.1 ii libxres1 2:1.2.1-1 Versions of packages xfwm4 recommends: ii librsvg2-common 2.54.5+dfsg-1 Versions of packages xfwm4 suggests: ii xfce4 4.18 -- no debconf information
