That would be a premature escalation -- if you want to drive this, please approach the MIA team. -- Sean Whitton

What about escalating to the CTTE and ask them to make a decision? That way the matter can be closed one way or the other. Kind regards, Luca Boccassi

Bug#1041464: debian-policy: make Uploaders field optional for team-maintained packages
Package: debian-policy Assigning ownership to individuals deters group and team maintenance, as other team members will feel like they are overstepping when working on a package for which other people are marked as Uploaders. In order to remove all barriers to team contributions and maintenance, make the 'Uploaders' field optional instead of mandatory when the 'Maintainer' is a team alias. This allows packages where we do not want to assign ownership to any individual, but leave them be purely team maintained, to do so. -- Kind regards, Luca Boccassi From Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Luca Boccassi Date: Wed, 19 Jul 2023 10:14:54 +0100 Subject: [PATCH] Make 'Uploaders' field optional for team maintenance Naming people in Uploaders assigns ownership and deters team maintenance, make the field optional --- policy/ch-binary.rst | 4 ++-- 1 file changed, 2 insertions(+), 2 deletions(-) diff --git a/policy/ch-binary.rst b/policy/ch-binary.rst index a03a3b8..e314168 100644 --- a/policy/ch-binary.rst +++ b/policy/ch-binary.rst @@ -164,8 +164,8 @@ The format of the ``Maintainer`` control field is described in :ref:`s-f-Maintainer`.
