Last night my laptop crashed (hung hard) multiple times. I noticed that it was running really hot, and that several tabs I had open on a site (tabs.ultimate-guitar.com) were autoplaying videos in the background. I went into Settings, set autoplay "Default for all websites" to "Block Audio and Video", and my laptop has been running noticeably cooler ever since.
Now obviously my laptops fans & cpu scaling should be able to handle playing multiple videos, so I haven't solved the root of the problem, but also autoplaying videos is vile. It would be great if firefox in debian could change this setting to disable autoplaying of videos by default.
