Package: django-yarnpkg Version: 6.1.0-1 Severity: important X-Debbugs-Cc: ikwuegbu...@gmail.com, debian...@lists.debian.org
Dear Maintainer, I am writing to inform you of some changes in node-yarnpkg that might affect your package. Recently, node-yarnpkg announced a major update [1] that would introduce some breaking changes in its behavior. One important change is that node-yarnpkg would no longer use the node_modules directory to store the installed dependencies but would now use a new format called Plug'n'Play (PnP). This means that the dependencies would be stored in a single file called .pnp.js, and the Node.js modules resolution algorithm would be modified to use this file instead of the node_modules directory. To help you prepare for the changes, we have prepared some notes that you can find in the README.Debian and NEWS files of the node-yarnpkg package [2]. You can also refer to the offical yarn documentation for more details. We hope that this notice would help you avoid potential issues and ensure compatibility of your package. 1. https://lists.debian.org/debian-js/2023/10/msg00079.html 2. https://salsa.debian.org/js-team/node-yarnpkg
