Bug#1058712: ITP: sddm-conf -- Graphical editor for SDDM

2024-02-20 Thread Aaron Rainbolt
I have prepared the packaging for Debian, porting it from the Ubuntu
packaging created originally by Simon Quigley which I further enhanced.
The Git repository is at https://salsa.debian.org/ArrayBolt3/sddm-conf.

CC'ing Simon for review.

Bug#1058712: ITP: sddm-conf -- Graphical editor for SDDM

2023-12-14 Thread Aaron Rainbolt
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Aaron Rainbolt
X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-de...@lists.debian.org, arraybo...@ubuntu.com

* Package name: sddm-conf
  Version : 0.1.0
  Upstream Contact: redtide
* URL : https://github.com/qtilities/sddm-conf
* License : MIT (with some LGPL-3+ icons)
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : Graphical editor for SDDM

sddm-conf provides a way to edit various SDDM-related settings using a
graphical user interface. It is part of the Qtilities suite, and is
particularly handy for desktop environments that are Qt-based but not
KDE-based or only minimally KDE-based (such as LXQt).

This program is the successor to sddm-config-editor, which had an RFP
bug filed for it here:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=868562
sddm-config-editor is now abandoned.

The Lubuntu team is already shipping sddm-conf in our flavor of Ubuntu.
We have both the ability and the willingness to keep it maintained in
Debian.

Qtilitools is a dependency of sddm-conf, and therefore this software
will require Qtilitools to be uploaded before it is usable. The ITP bug for
Qtilitools is at
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1058651.
