Bug#1068502: Dead upstream and broken, remove or switch to a fork?
Hi, I have uploaded a patch that fixes the FTBFS bug with flake8 >= 7, so we have a bit of breathing room for now. The pytest-flake8 fork has been archived already; the author states [1]: I am no longer invested into the flake8 as a tool, as I have moved to using ruff. And I strongly recommend running QC tools as a separate step. Integrating flake8 into the unittest framework looks like a false economy to me nowdays. I tend to agree and think we should work towards removing this package. There are only five reverse dependencies anyway: $ build-rdeps python3-pytest-flake8 Reverse Build-depends in unstable/main: --- cvise pytest-pylint python-cssselect2 python-tinycss2 rpmlint Found a total of 5 reverse build-depend(s) for python3-pytest-flake8.
