Thank you for the detailed reply. I will proceed with package uploads
and keep your name in the uploader list. Thank you for all your past
work!

Bug#1071373: ITS: hardinfo

2024-05-22 Thread Simon Quigley

Hello,

Firstly, I would like to thank you and others for your persistence in
this effort. I am glad that there is interest in this package again.

My original interest in maintaining hardinfo was due to its inclusion in
Lubuntu, prior to our switch to LXQt. It was one of the first packages I
worked on as an "up and coming" Debian Developer, and to my
understanding, the packaging as of 2018 was fully up to date and
standards-compliant.

That being said, I no longer have as much interest in this package as I
used to. Boyuan, please go ahead and take over maintainership if you are
interested. My only request is that I stay as a co-maintainer, since
this package has sentimental value to me.

Thank you again for your efforts. Proceed.

Bug#1071373: ITS: hardinfo

2024-05-17 Thread Boyuan Yang
Source: hardinfo
Version: 0.5.1+git20180227-2.1
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-CC: tsimo...@debian.org

Dear package hardinfo maintainer in Debian,

After looking into the package you maintain (hardinfo,
https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/hardinfo), I found that this package
received no maintainer updates in the past 6 years and was not in good
shape. As a result, I am filing an ITS (Intent to Salvage) request
against your package according to section 5.12 in Debian's Developers'
Reference [1].

My current plan is to fix RC bugs and work with the hardinfo2
upstream.

Please let me know whether you are still willing to maintain this
package. According to the criteria listed at [2], I will upload a Non-
maintainer Upload (NMU) of this package onto DELAYED/7 after 21 days
(Jun 08, 2024) to continue with the package salvaging. If you find it
necessary to pause the ITS process, please let me know immediately by
replying this bug report.
