Bug#201376: O: x-ttcidfont-conf -- Configure TrueType and CID fonts for X.

2005-11-03 Thread Martin Michlmayr
gnucash and xfonts-thai-ttf are the only two packages which depend on
x-ttcidfont-conf, a package that has been orphaned for over 2 years.
I think I asked you before whether gnucash really needs
xfonts-thai-ttf but I cannot find anything in my mail archives.

Do you know if it would be possible to drop this dependency or replace
it with something else? Should I try to get hold of some Asian people
to answer this question?

hello, i just happen to see this. why does x-ttcidfont-conf be
orphaned? i think it's useful, at least for me, i use it to
configure ttf font for X, and i do not know any other config tool
could do the similar thing (if any, do tell me, please)

It's orphaned because the last maintainer of it went away and nobody
else has expressed interest in maintaining it.

Gnucash certainly doesn't need xfonts-thai-ttf. You mean
x-ttcidfont-conf.

I think it doesn't need that. I will drop it, and see if anyone
complains. :) Please don't get rid of x-ttcidfont-conf until, say,
the resulting gnucash gets into testing.

Thomas

Right, thank you.
