The maintainer could not reproduce the report at the time, no-one has reported a similar problem since, and I cannot reproduce the issue with any version of the exim packages currently in the Debian archive. Are you still able to reproduce this? If you cannot confirm that the problem still occurs, I propose to close this bug on or after August 27th.
