I do apologize. The typo is mine. I've got the message loop like that:
- Display the Debian Welcome message
- msg: Incorrect charset ('en_GB')... (as I remember! I only could get
the correct message again reinstalling)
- menu with different options where the first one is Display Welcome
message and inmediately it changes to the welcomes message again
Sorry again for this misunderstanding. If you need it, I might have time
next week to reinstall the server and get you the proper error message.

So, where does the gb_GB setting come from? Can you post the contents of /etc/environment after the reboot. If there's no gb_GB in there, could you grep /etc for that string? Could you also check the logs in /var/log on the installed system for gb_GB and paste relevant parts. We still need to figure out where it comes from of course. Package: debian-installer Severity: grave I have installed a couple of sparc64 machines (One netra and one V100) and in both of them I had a problem at the end of the installation. On the first reboot, it enters on the menu where you will set up the root password and some other configs. But I was unable to do anything here as the server entered on a loop with the error Incorrect charset gb_GB. This servers have not monitor and you have to use a terminal. Normally VT100 at 9600bps I had to reboot on single mode and change /etc/inittab in order to boot the computer normally and finish manually the installation. -- Sergio Increased knowledge will help you now.
