From my side can be closed ;-)
All 2.6.12 variants do compile with gcc-3.4 and 4.01.

Hi,

according to Rene Engelhard, this works now with 2.6.12-rc6. Can you
still reproduce it, or can we close it?

gcc (GCC) 3.4.4 20050305 (prerelease) (Debian 3.4.3-11)
gives the same error :(

Hi all,

tried to build 2.6.11-rc5 on my powerbook, stops as follows:

  CHK include/linux/compile.h
  UPD include/linux/compile.h
  CC init/version.o
  LD init/built-in.o
  CHK usr/initramfs_list
  GEN .version

gcc (GCC) 3.4.4 20050203 (prerelease) (Debian 3.4.3-9)
GNU ld version 2.15

Using gcc-3.3 (GCC) 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-8) compiles well.

Any hints?
