 The only problem I had upgrading was lack of disk space, ended up
 having to move/symlink /usr/share/doc to /home/doc. Despite the
 repeated restarts of 'apt-get dist-upgrade' and having to do 'apt-get -f
 install' a few times the upgrade DID go smoothly overall.
   My only major hiccup was not reading notes about going to a 2.6 kernel
 and thus taking a while to figure out I needed to 'apt-get install
 modules-init-tools' to have modules work with 2.6 kernels.

Hello Athan,

Thanks for your upgrade report! It is very useful to know that users can
recover from problems like lack of disk space without too much hassle.

For your second problem, I suggest the release notes including a
documentation on how to upgrade to 2.6 kernels. I suspect lots of users
will want to do that after upgrading to sarge.

Cheers,

Athan,
Out of curiousity, were you using a Debian-provided kernel-image or a kernel
you compiled yourself?

  My own from vanilla source, so the failure to make sure I was on
modules-init-tools was entirely my own fault and nothing to do with
package dependencies.
