Bug#315926: Does not stop xscreensaver anymore

2006-11-29 Thread Sven Arvidsson
After finding this in the build logs,

checking for XTestFakeKeyEvent in -lXtst... no

I rebuilt totem with libxtst-dev, and now everything seems to work fine.
Totem stops the screensaver while displaying full screen video.

Can this be added to the build-depends, and if so, what version should
be required?

Bug#315926: Does not stop xscreensaver anymore

2006-10-10 Thread James Sams

Still seeing this behavior with 1.4.5-1, totem-xine. I've used the Gnome menu (Debian - Screen - Save - Disable XScreensaver) to disable the screensaver, and I am still seeing the blanking. I found that disabling DPMS in xorg.conf and restarting X helped to fix the behavior. Perhaps if gnome screensaver is not running, totem doesn't do anything to prevent screen blanking, thus allowing either xscreensaver or DPMS to blank the screen, even if it is supposed to fallback on xscreensaver events, which may not be enough to prevent DPMS from kicking in if neither screensaver is running.

* Sven Arvidsson [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

It would be great if you could test the 1.4 release of Totem and see
 if this bug still remains.

I can confirm that on my installation gnome-screensaver is not stopped
also. Maybe I should open another bug because the problem is unrelated?

Installed version is totem-gstreamer 1.4.1-2.

Regards, Kai

Bug#315926: Does not stop xscreensaver anymore

2006-06-11 Thread Sven Arvidsson
If that's the case then I'll confirm this bug as it is definitely
 -not-
falling back as it should, and the screensaver constantly comes on
 while
I'm playing. I have to use brightside to disable it while watching a
movie. After I switched to gnome-screensaver, I didn't have this
problem, but I much prefer xscreensaver so I would love to see this fixed.

Bug#315926: Does not stop xscreensaver anymore

2005-08-04 Thread Alexandre ROSSI
Hi,

I am also having this issue with the 1.0.4-1 version. I don't use
xscreensaver, but the DPMS extension of Xorg blanks the screen even
while playing a movie.
I do not think this is relevant, but this occurs with both totem-xine
and totem-gstreamer.

I have looked at the totem source code and learned in what I could
understand that it simulates key events using the Xtest extension.
This extension loads okay on my debian box.

I have tried to monitor fake key events using an instance of xev
attached to the totem window, but those do not show. Should they show
anyway?

Feel free to ask me for more info, I would be glad to help on this bug.

Alexandre

Thanks for your bug. Do you still have this issue? Are you using the
fullscreen mode? Can you try with the 1.0.4 version?

Thanks,
