I announced this transition long ago, described how to fix it, and
even provided a patch:

Please use pg_config to determine the correct header path.

Actually, the patch to transition to the newer postgres is already on
Gnome-team svn. I'm having problems to build/upload the new package due
to some changes in freetds and the frequent brokness of other
dependencies by the dozens of transitions out there.
