Package: ifupdown
Version: 0.6.7
Severity: normal
I run Etch on a laptop and cardmgr configures my ethernet card. I'm trying to
configure ifupdown to start fetchmail only after the network is up. I then
noticed that /etc/network/if-post-up.d/ didn't exist. I created it and dropped
my
script there. However, it's not executed when the interface is brought up.
The man page for interfaces(5) says about the pre and post options:
There exists for each of the above mentioned options a directory
/etc/net- work/if-option.d/ the scripts in which are run (with no
arguments) using run-parts(8) after the option itself has been
processed.
iface eth0 inet dhcp
post-up /etc/network/if-post-up.d/fetchmail
then the script is executed.
I'm not quite sure if I'm missing something here, or the man page is not in
sync with the behaviour of the utility.
