Package: webmin-firewall Severity: important I installed to systems with Sarge and then installed webmin and webmin-firewall. On both systems, the webmin-firewall module doesn't provide the option to "Activate at boot". I only discovered this by accident when running a security check on a system that had been rebooted - which I found was wide open.
I uninstalled the debian modules and then hand installed webmin 1.220 from the webmin site and it all worked fine. This seems like a serious security issue as people can easily configure their firewall without realising it will not persist. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.27-2-386 Locale: LANG=en_AU, LC_CTYPE=en_AU (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages webmin-firewall depends on: ii iptables 1.2.11-10 Linux kernel 2.4+ iptables adminis ii perl 5.8.4-8 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii webmin 1.180-3 web-based administration toolkit -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
