Yes, I can. And after running firefox once, creating
~/.mozilla/firefox, firefox works even without 'xhost +'.

But if I remove ~/.mozilla/firefox, firefox don't work when
execuded as root unless 'xhost +' is executed first.

2005-08-11 Thread Anders Boström
Package: mozilla-firefox
Version: 1.0.4-2
Severity: normal

When I try to run firefox as root when logged in as a normal user, I
get this:

sid:~# firefox
grep: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory
sed: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: cannot open shared object
file: No such file or directory
cut: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: cannot open shared object
file: No such file or directory
Xlib: connection to :0.0 refused by server
Xlib: XDM authorization key matches an existing client!

(firefox-bin:20250): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:
sid:~#

The first three errors is another problem (unrelated and reported).

Other X-applications, including mozilla, works fine from the same
root-shell.
