The failure is from some new sanity checks which was introduced in 2.01.10. Please attach the vg metadata. Execute vgcfgbackup $vg_name and pull it from /etc/lvm/backup/$vg_name. After backing up the data I booted off a Gentoo 2005.1 LiveCD and used its LVM (2.01.05 2004-04-04) to resize my LV with SUCCESS !!
