Hi Barry, unfortunately gabber2 is not stable enough and is really missing a lot of features when compared to gabber1. We have even removed it from Debian. There are many options for GNOME Jabber clients currently (eg. gajim, gossip and pidgin) so, unless someone really wants to have gabber2 back into Debian (and to assume its upstream maintainership), that's the way to go. Sources for the last uploaded packages of jabberoo and gabber2 are available at http://people.debian.org/~goedson/gabber/ if someone wants to bring it to life again. Package: gabber Severity: wishlist OK, so after filing the last bug (about the C++ transition) I realized that gabber 2 has already been uploaded and is in pretty good shape. :-) Gabber 1 isn't.
