Indeed, but it isn't:

lambda.ini should be moved away (oldstuff or delete) at
installation/upgrade time, the others upon purge.

No, I didn't.

Well, this is not OK. After purging teTeX /etc/texmf should be empty.
This needs work. Did you modify that 01tetex.cnf manually?

I did indeed. But I purged everything before I installed the version
from unstable again. Obviously a lot of stuff remained in /etc/texmf/
even after I had removed each and every TeX-related package.
I did it again and checked with "dpkg -S texmf" that no installed
package had any files left in there. After (re)moving /etc/texmf
reinstallation of all the packages worked. Sorry for the false alert.

  Chris

Sorry, I missed that passage.
The aleph package has nothing to do with teTeX (see #325551).
Interesting is only why he complained about missing aleph. Please
answer the questions I asked before.

Strange. What does "dpkg -S aleph" and "dpkg -l aleph" tell you?

teTeX-bin 2.0.2 does not contain the aleph program. I'm pretty sure
you see the program aleph from the package aleph. There still remains
the question why tetex-extra tries to build a format for it. Did you
have ever teTeX 3.0 installed and /etc/texmf/fmt.d/01tetex.cnf is
still on your system?

2005-09-27 Thread Christian von Kietzell
Package: tetex-extra
Version: 2.0.2c-8
Severity: normal

Package install fails with the following messages. And that happens after I
installed aleph (before, it reported aleph was missing completely - looks like
tetex-extra should depend on it):

If you report an error when running one of the TeX-related binaries
(latex, pdftex, metafont,...), or if the bug is related to bad or wrong
output, please include a MINIMAL example input file that produces the
error in your report. Don't forget to also include minimal examples of
other files that are needed, e.g. bibtex databases. Often it also helps
to include the logfile. Please, never send included pictures!

If your example file isn't short or produces more than one page of
output (except when multiple pages are needed to show the problem),
you can probably minimize it further. Instructions on how to do that
can be found at
