Without realizing this patch existed, I did basically the same thing, but just always removed the "+" and anything following in the version, in get_src_version. But this patch is probably the smarter thing to do, just in case a source version contains a "+".
Anyway, please apply the patch and update the package. With all the "+b1" packages being uploaded now, it's a real problem.
