As a workaround, setup one identity per smtp server. In this way you
can use different identities to use specific smtp hosts as you like.

Bug#343225: mozilla-thunderbird: Multiple outbound SMTP servers per account broken

2005-12-13 Thread Jerry Quinn
Package: mozilla-thunderbird
Version: 1.0.7-3
Severity: normal

As I move my machine around, I need to use different SMTP servers to
send mail, depending on the network I'm on. The obvious way to do this
is to add them to the account under account settings->outgoing smtp
server->advanced. This lets you add multiple servers and select one as
default.

Nice, except it doesn't work. If there is more than 1 server, sending
mail always tries to use the first server, even if another is selected
as default. The only way to switch is to delete all but one server.
Inconvenient at best.
