FYI, this can happen when an application is launched as root in the
user's session.

I can not reproduce this bug. That directory should definitely belong to
you. eg:

% ls -ld /tmp/orbit-netsnipe/
drwx-- 2 netsnipe netsnipe 4096 2006-01-27 16:21 /tmp/orbit-netsnipe

Which would indicate that there's something wrong with your GNOME
session setup. I suggest logging out of GNOME, and as root delete that
directory before trying to log in again. Your problem is definitely not
that of glabel.

I have just installed glabels 2.1.2-3 and have found exactly the same
bug in it as I reported as bug#346118.  Here is what is now shown on the
console where glabels is started:
