But if the change cannot be done, then the packager's responsibility is to provide program and documentation that is suited for the current system. In this case for Debian users. Documentation that does not reflect locations in current system is buggy and should be fixed. It is standard practise to have diffs and apply them for Debian packages. A direct change in manual page in this case will be handled by debuild automatically and there is no dependeny fo quilt. There are many other ways to deal with packages, like VCS (Version contol system) that can deal with the differences with ease. We should consider the end user who uses the utility. Since quilt cannot build-depend on itself, I prefer not to have any difference at all with upstream. This may change since next releases may be able to be used before being installed, which would change the deal. Until then, I do not plan to fix this bug. Bye, Mt.
