Bug#360879: closed by Brice Goglin [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Re: Bug#360879: [Bug 3621] radeon output handling re-work)

2007-08-05 Thread Eric Lavarde

Hi,

I'm not sure I do agree with the closing of the bug: the fact that there
is a fixed-in-experimental tag, tells me that the bug should be closed
only once the fix has hit unstable.

But: I'm too lazy to check if my understanding is correct, and I can
always open a new bug if I found out later that my issue is not fixed :-)

Cheers, Eric

Since upstream released 6.6.193 after having said about a week ago that all
fixes had been committed, I am marking this bug as fixed in 1:6.6.193-1
(already uploaded to experimental) even if it could actually have been fixed
in 6.6.192 earlier or so.

The tag fixed-in-experimental is deprecated these days. We use version
tracking now, that's why I closed as fixed in 1:6.6.193-1. It lets the
BTS translate this in this is fixed in unstable or testing when
6.6.193 or later enters unstable or testing. So the bug is not really
closed right now, it's just fixed. It won't be archived before
6.6.193 enters testing. And reportbug/apt-listbugs should show it as
fixed in 1:6.6.193-1 in the meantime.

Sorry if I can read this information from somewhere else, but in which
 version
can we expect this patch to be released?

The soon to be released 6.7 will have these changes and then the randr
 branch
 breaks it down even nicer.
