Package: apt-file Version: 2.0.7 Severity: normal If root's umask is 066 when running apt-file update, the Contents.gz files can end up not being world-readable. This means that regular users can't run apt-file search. Perhaps apt-file should set the umask before running, or chmod the files after downloading?
