Bug#368603: localepurge: typo in package description
Package: localepurge Severity: minor Hi, I've heard about localepurge in a DebConf6 lecture, and while look what exactly this program does, I saw a typo in the word automatically in the second line of the description. It has g instead of t. locale files and localized man pages. It will *automagically* be invoked -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16-1-k7 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Hi Lior! This is no typo, but quite intentional. It is a wordplay composed of the words 'automatic' and 'magically'. For explanation please see http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/automagical Thanks, P. *8^) On Mon, May 22, 2006 at 09:03:51PM +0300, Lior Kaplan wrote: Package: localepurge Severity: minor Hi, I've heard about localepurge in a DebConf6 lecture, and while look what exactly this program does, I saw a typo in the word automatically in the second line of the description. Hi Paul, Thanks, I've learned a new word (: I don't think this word composition is familiar to people and suggest to replace with automatically. Maybe since I'm don't see it as magic ?! Feel free to tag this as 'won't fix'. Paul Seelig wrote: Hi Lior! This is no typo, but quite intentional. It is a wordplay composed of the words 'automatic' and 'magically'. Hi Lior! Well, the idea behind a wordplay is to vary a familiar word with a humorous twist. I like that! :-) Actually i'm not the first and only package maintainer using this word. Try grep -i15 automagic /var/lib/dpkg/available | grep ^Package to identify the package of the other jesters. Cheers, P. *8^) On Tue, May 23, 2006 at 06:52:14PM +0300, Lior Kaplan wrote: Hi Paul, Thanks, I've learned a new word (: I don't think this word composition is familiar to people and suggest to replace with automatically.
