Bug#374355: [Pkg-alsa-devel] Bug#374355: linux-sound-base: apparent missing dependency on module-init-tools

2009-09-04 Thread Elimar Riesebieter
* Lennert Buytenhek [060618 23:14 +0200]
 Package: linux-sound-base
 Version: 1.0.11-2

 When upgrading linux-sound-base, I get the following error, and the
 package fails to configure:

   ln: creating symbolic link `/etc/modprobe.d/linux-sound-base_noOSS' to
 `/lib/linux-sound-base/noOSS.modprobe.conf': No such file or directory

 Even though this machine does run a 2.6 kernel, it's an embedded machine
 which doesn't use kernel modules, so it didn't have module-init-tools
 installed, which means that it didn't have an /etc/modprobe.d directory.

Is this bug still valid for you?

Elimar

I actually don't even use Debian anymore, so you can close this one
as far as I'm concerned.

thanks

This bug actually prevents the package to be installed on standard Etch
installations. I am therefore upgrading its severity to serious.

Could you please run dpkg-reconfigure linux-sound-base and choose
default in debconfs list. This should work in your case. If it works
we have to extend the explanation in the template.

Thx for reporting
