Great, thanks.

 update your build-depends to 'libsvn-dev | libsvn0-dev (= 1.2.0)'?
I've already renamed it in experimental, along with two other packages,
and I'd like to migrate that change to unstable some time soon.

kdesvn also builds the packages libsvnqt2 and libsvnqt-dev, where
libsvnqt-dev currently depends on libsvn0-dev.
Would you suggest to change this to
'libsvn-dev | libsvn0-dev (= 1.2.0)' too, which I think would be a bit odd?
I don't quite see the reason yet to use the optional build depedency on
libsvn-dev. I intended to replace the build dependency on libsvn0-dev
with libsvn-dev (and adapt libsvnqt-dev accordingly) as soon as it hits
unstable. Could you eloborate a bit on your reasoning behind this
suggestion?

Cheers,
Michael

Bug#383880: Fixed package not available yet?

2006-09-01 Thread Michael Biebl
Package: libsvn0-dev
Version: 1.3.2-5+b1
Followup-For: Bug #383880

You closed the bug on 20 Aug 2006 but the fixed version you mentioned
(1.4.0~rc4-2) is still not available in unstable (there is only a
version in experimental which is imho not sufficient to close this bug).
Please also provide fixed packages for subversion-1.3.x
(libsvn0+libsvn0-dev).
I'm currently blocked by this bug as I wanted to upload an updated
version of kdesvn which atm is not possible.

Cheers,
Michael

[Michael Biebl]
You closed the bug on 20 Aug 2006 but the fixed version you mentioned
(1.4.0~rc4-2) is still not available in unstable (there is only a
version in experimental which is imho not sufficient to close this
 bug).

It was what's known as a versioned close, which means that if you
tell the BTS that you are interested in unstable, testing, or stable,
it will still show the bug as open, because the bug-closing version is
not in those suites yet.

Also, the bug I closed is related to the fact that libaprutil1 uses
db4.4, and this only affects subversion in experimental. Then
yesterday, a couple weeks _after_ this bug was reported and closed,
somebody NMU'd apache2 2.0.55-4.2 to sid, which created another similar
bug, only this one affects subversion in sid. Of course, the guy who
did the NMU did not bother to notify those of us who are affected.

I'm currently blocked by this bug as I wanted to upload an updated
version of kdesvn which atm is not possible.

Right, I'll do that today if I can find a sponsor. Can you please
update your build-depends to 'libsvn-dev | libsvn0-dev (= 1.2.0)'?
I've already renamed it in experimental, along with two other packages,
and I'd like to migrate that change to unstable some time soon.
