Now i'm using linux-image-2.6.18-1-686 (2.6.18-2) with a dpkg package
updated right now to version 1.3.23, but on my system isn't still
possible to purge linux-image-2.6.16-2-686.
Since some week i'm occasionally trying to purge then reinstalling it
just to see if there are any progress in this issue, but so far i
haven't seen any nor any reply from developers.
I know that Etch will ship with 2.6.18, but now 2.6.16 is still present
in Etch and Sid.
The only thing i can add to this issue is that if i remove the package
rather than purge, there isn't any error and the uninstallation complete
successfully.
Does anybody have any clue about this issue?
Regards.
Cesare.
