Bug#393708: writer crashes randomly
Package: openoffice.org-writer Version: 2.0.4-1 Severity: grave The ooo writer is nearly unusable here, since it crashes randomly after a while of editing a document. Unfortunately I can't give you much more usefull feedback. What I see is: * if I don't touch ooow, it'll idle in the background without crashing * if I edit the document ooow will crash after roughly the same time-intervall or key-stroke count (it feels like that) * it doesn't matter much _what_ I edit: * one crash while simply typing * one while highlighting * one while pasting text I've been seeing this behaveour with 2.0.4~rc3 and now, worse and more often with 2.0.4-1. *t -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (50, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15-1-686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages openoffice.org-writer depends on: ii libc62.3.6.ds1-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries hi libgcc1 1:4.1.1-13 GCC support library ii libicu36 3.6-1 International Components for Unico ii libstdc++6 4.1.1-13The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libstlport5.05.0.2-11STLport C++ class library ii libwpd8c2a 0.8.6-1 Library for handling WordPerfect d ii openoffice.org-core 2.0.4-1 OpenOffice.org office suite archit ii python-uno 2.0.4-1 Python interface for OpenOffice.or ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3-13 compression library - runtime Versions of packages openoffice.org-writer recommends: ii j2re1.4 [java2-runtime] 1.4.2.03-1 Blackdown Java(TM) 2 Runtime Envir ii openoffice.org-java-common2.0.4-1OpenOffice.org office suite Java s -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. I'd upgraded because rc3 was crashing here. hi libgcc1 1:4.1.1-13 GCC support library Not that does matter, but why is this on hold? No special reason I know of. ii libicu36 3.6-1 International Components for Unico not in testing. Required by 2.0.4-1 thus installed. I've upgraded all lib/gcc things that ooow depended on to the latest in unstable (thus 1:4.1.1-16) and upgraded to libwpd8c2a_0.8.7-2 too. So my ooo dependencies should be now up to unstable. I've been trying to crash ooow for a while without success. I will keep an eye on it and'll let you know via the bts. *t -- Tomas Pospisek http://sourcepole.com - Linux Open Source Solutions -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
