I have already noticed that as well myself. This must be some side
effect, since it used to work previously.

This was fixed by changing the following line in 31_aide_aide:

 /var/log/aide/aide\.log\.[2345]\.gz$ RotatedLogs

 into:

 /var/log/aide/aide\.log\.[123456]\.gz$ RotatedLogs

I do not really understand why this should fix this, Since they're
already added to the RotatedLogs on separate lines (the line in front
and after), but it seems to help...

Without having verified the effect (I'll do so before uploading), I do
not see any risk in that change (the [123456] rule is less specific
than the explicit 1 and 6 rules, and have committed the change to svn.

Greetings
Marc

Bug#412320: Changes for aide log rotation

2007-02-25 Thread Tim Stoop
Package: aide
Version: 0.13.1-2
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Hi there,

With the default aide config, I was getting the following lines mailed
each day:

---
Added files:
---

added: /var/log/aide/aide.log.2.gz

---
Removed files:
---

removed: /var/log/aide/aide.log.5.gz

This was fixed by changing the following line in 31_aide_aide:

/var/log/aide/aide\.log\.[2345]\.gz$ RotatedLogs

into:

/var/log/aide/aide\.log\.[123456]\.gz$ RotatedLogs

I do not really understand why this should fix this, Since they're
already added to the RotatedLogs on separate lines (the line in front
and after), but it seems to help...
