Bug#420574: texlive-latex-extra: Please move documentation over to a -doc package
Package: texlive-latex-extra Version: 2007-3 Priority: wishlist This package, with an installed size of 126180 bytes actually installs 101752 bytes worth of contents under /usr/share/doc/! That's just too much information being installed and deserves to be in an independent package. IMHO there's many users that might want to have the style files but not the documentation itself. Splitting it from the package into a separate package would be much appreciated (both to reduce the download time and disk space needed) Regards Javier signature.asc Description: Digital signature

I had a very bad feeling about not following this license requirement to the letter with tetex-extra/tetex-doc, and I know the upstream author was a bit annoyed, too. I don't think we should change this for worse in texlive. oreven for *all* packages. I guess that this shouldn't be a big problem with respect to our scripts, but we should come to a coclusion if we want to do it or not. Please Javier read the statements in the merged bug.
