The error, sadly, still persists.

Our Gentoo boxes run flawless with the patch.

With which version? You appear to be replying to the bug closure message
resulting from the upload of samba 3.0.25a to Debian unstable, but you
reported that you were running the version of samba from stable. Of course
an upload to unstable hasn't fixed anything in stable.

Our Gentoo boxes run flawless with the patch.

With which patch? There are several floating around, including two
different patches against 3.0.24 included in the upstream bug report. What
we really need to know is if the packages at
http://people.debian.org/~vorlon/samba/ fix this bug or not, so that we
know whether we need to use the other upstream patch for the updated
security release.

Thanks,

I just replied to the last message received in the bug report.

Your message did not say that you were testing the etch3 binary packages.

I see that the reportbug information included in your report mentions the
etch3 version number, ok. I'll advise the security team to scrap the
current build and will reroll with the full upstream patch.
