Yes, this is an issue that as already been discussed back in the time
I first made the package. I had already tried to simplify the
description of the package, but this is obviously not enough.

I will take your suggestions into account for the next release of the
package, and push the references to Amarok and GTK+ to the end of the
description fields.

Thanks,

Bug#443085: description and manual page too "technical"

2007-09-18 Thread debacle
Package: exaile
Version: 0.2.10+debian-1.1
Severity: minor
Tags: patch

If a stupid end user (like me!) looks for a music player, they
might not know AmaroK or GTK+ or they are not interested in the
historical and technical detailes. I suggest to rewrite
description and manual page a little bit:

Description: flexible audio player
Exaile is a media player which incorporates many cool things
like automatic fetching of album art, handling of large
 ...
submitting played tracks on your iPod to last.fm.
 .
Exaile aims to be similar to AmaroK, but uses Python and GTK+.
 .
 Homepage: http://www.exaile.org/

For the manual page:

NAME
exaile - flexible audio player
...
DESCRIPTION
Exaile is a media player which incorporates many cool things
like automatic fetching of album art, handling of large
...
installed).
Exaile aims to be similar to AmaroK, but uses Python and GTK+.
