This can happen when a version of a package ships a symlink to a directory and the next one ships a directory: the unpacking of the new package takes place where the symlink points to and the removal of the old package might remove the new dir. The solution is to rm the symlink or the directory before upgrade, in the preinst script. -- Loïc Minier

Hi, Thanks for the hint, I added preinst script adapted from libgtksourceview-doc.preinst to remove the symlink. From my quick testing it seems to upgrade from the version in etch fine now. Not related to this bug, but I noticed this in the changelog; Don't include autotools.mk as it's already included by gnome.mk, gnome.mk doesn't actually seem to be used by glade, that's part of bug 313520. -- Cheers, Sven Arvidsson http://www.whiz.se PGP Key ID 760BDD22 signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part

Sven I can't reproduce this, how did you end up with this? Do you still Sven have some glade 2.12 packages installed? It was an upgrade from etch. I did the same again today on the laptop, and it happened there as well. Luckily, it is easy to restore sanity by removing the symlink and reinstalling the glade package. I attach aptitude log. aptitude.log.gz Description: Bad glade upgrade -- This line is completely ham.
