retitle 445286 Readline frontend does not display default / already configured value thanks
When a package is installed/upgraded, or when the user is running dpkg-reconfigure, with most (all?) other debconf frontends the default value (or the value that was configured previously) is already selected, so that the user can just press <enter> and accept that. However, with the Readline frontend, the readline prompt is just blank, forcing the user to remember/reenter the same values again and again. It would therefore be great if the frontend "injected" the default value into the readline prompt, so that the user can just press <enter> and go for that. (The reason I'm "hijacking" this bug report instead of opening a new one, is because as far as I can tell this is the heart of the problem that the submitter was reporting, so I just wanted to emphasize the core issue here instead of creating a duplicate report.)
